Inauguration of Asta Ja Abhiyan Nepal

On December 24 2008, Foreign Minister Mr. Upendra Yadav, inaugarted the Asta Ja Abhiyan Nepal by lighting a Panus Batti in the Conference Hall of Hotel Kamal in Kathmandu. The inaugural event was attended by over 170 guests including CA members representing various political parties, civil servants, secretaries from various ministeries, representatives from foreign agencies, professors, researchers, students, bankers, businessmen, common citizens, journalists, medias, and other professionals. The Asta Ja Abhiyan Nepal envisions an economically prosperous, environmentally sound, and socially just Nepal through sustainable development and management of Asta Ja. Also, the Asta Ja Campaign Nepal envisions Nepalese people and friends of Nepal recognizing, appreciating, caring, and sustainbly developing and managing Asta Ja for Nepal's prosperity, environmental quality, national pride and societal integrity in their respective capacities. The Asta Ja Abhiyan Nepal is a non-profit, non-governmental, and volunteer organization.

On December 31 2008, District Judge Mr. Kumar Prasad Pokhrel inaugurated the Asta Ja Abhiyan Nepal's Lumbini Regional Abhiyan in Bhairahawa. Over 70 participants representing various political parties, governmental agencies, civil society, intellectuals, common citizens, and other stakeholders attended the event.
On January 3 2009, the Asta Ja Abhiyan Nepal, the Solidarity Monthly, and the Bishal Milan Kendra Chandol organized "Asta Ja Hatemalo" program in Bishal Milan Kendra at Bishalnagar, Kathmandu. Constituent Aseembly member Mr. Nara Hari Acharya was the chief guest of the hatemalo event. The purpose of the hatemalo program is to bring Asta Ja Abhiyan to the communities and neighborhoods.
